Introduction:

Brief Overview:

This project concerns Johan Barkhuizen, who proposed to sponsor two Plug and Play units (1kW inverter with 1kW Lithium batteries) for a raffle during a festival in Brits on May 4th, 2024. Although Johan intended to promote Affordable Protection Services (APS) through this sponsorship, he sought to retain the profits from the raffle. Johan took the items but has not yet paid for them.

Objective:

The objective is to retrieve the items and secure the payment for the two Plug and Play units, as these units need to be paid for and then supplied to the raffle winners. Additionally, APS aims to recover a cellphone and laptop that were also not returned.

• Despite numerous attempts to contact Johan Barkhuizen, Affordable Power Solutions has not received the two Plug and Play units (valued at R36,000), a tablecloth (valued at R1,500), and a collapsible trolley (valued at R2,500), totaling approximately R40,000 including VAT.
• He also has a laptop and cell phone that belongs to Affordable Power Solutions and is worth roughly R12 000.

Recent Activities:

• Johan Barkhuizen was responsible for contacting the raffle winners to offer additional solar products, which has reportedly not been done.
• Johan Barkhuizen has failed to make the agreed payment for the Plug and Play units and has not returned the APS equipment.
• Johan Barkhuizen is avoiding Affordable Power Solutions completely and has also not returned the laptop and cellphone he used for work.

Last Known Location:

Ongoing Investigations:

• Affordable Protection Services is pursuing the recovery of the unpaid items and the return of its equipment.
• Affordable Protection Services is seeking the return of the laptop and cellphone that belongs to Affordable Power Solutions.
• A SAPS case has been opened at Boksburg North Police station [CAS:138/7/2024]
